What about Dell?
Half of my customers use Dell because they had had good luck with Dell in the past. These days it pays to checkout the specials at local businesses like Fry's Electronics, Staples, Office Max, Best Buy. Ordering online with Dell is going to be great or terrible. If you run in to trouble, you are likely to end up talking to a helpdesk in India. If you buy locally you can just bring it to the store if you have problems.

What about the Mac?
Since 2008 I get this question a lot from my Windows customers. My answer depends on what you are currently running and your reasons for wanting to switch. My windows customers call me for help at least four times as often. The Mac is about twice as expensive as comparable Windows Desktop or Notebook PC. In my opinion, it's not right for everyone, so don't toss your PC yet, but it is improving all the time.
